While new to the children’s book writing and illustrating scene, C.L. has been doodling her way through life since she won a school wide poster contest in the third grade. She continues to hone her creative skills by designing, drawing and painting.
She compiled folders brimming with storybook ideas and pictures while raising her two sons, and once the reality of the “empty nest syndrome “sank in, she decided to put her ideas into action with the ebook series, The Adventures of Lovable Lobo.
She draws inspiration from her own life for the wolf character Lobo. She has raised a real wolf that has been misunderstood by so many, primarily due to the preconceived notions that wolves are to be feared. “Lobo has led me on an incredible journey,” she replies when asked about her beloved wolf. “I’ve spent the last 13 years protecting him,” she quickly adds to the conversation.
She lives amongst the wildlife in an enchanted forest in the beautiful Oregon wilderness. She has always appreciated nature and animals have always played a major role in her life. She was that little girl that brought home the strays asking “Can we please keep it?” At an early age she realized her connection with animals by training a wild Bluejay to appear on command to take food from her hand.
Her husband of many years, continues to support and encourage her creative endeavors to which she is extremely grateful.
Check out her book series and discover that you, too, will find Lobo lovable.
